Andy Cohen claims fans will likely be “less surprised” by Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky‘s Relationship-spending-time-apart-before-alleged-separation-plus-when-kyle-met-rumored-flame-morgan-wades-mom/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>alleged separation after watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

During a Couple of interviews amid Wednesday night’s premiere party for The Real Housewives of New York City, Andy weighed in on the recent reunion between Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann, addressed his tweet about the Real Housewives‘ franchise’s lack of Emmys, dished on RHONY season 14, and spoke of the communication he’s had with Kyle since her marriage news broke.

After telling Page Six he was “very” surprised to learn of Kyle and Mauricio’s status on July 12, Andy confirmed he’s “corresponded” with Kyle, but noted their conversation was “private.”

Although Andy wouldn’t say what he and Kyle discussed, fans are expected to see more of the story after cameras picked back up earlier this month to capture additional scenes for the RHOBH, which had wrapped production in May.

“Producers know fans want a glimpse into how Kyle and Mauricio came to this decision,” a source told Page Six.

As fans await the new season of RHOBH, the rebooted cast of RHONY is set to make their Bravo debut on Sunday.

“I just want [the audience] to meet the women, to give them a chance and to get to know them like they would get to know any new friends,” Andy said of ladies, including Jenna LyonsSai De SilvaUbah HassanBrynn Whitfield, Jessel Taank, and Erin Dana Lichy. “And also to know, this isn’t the old group. This is a totally new show, and that it’s a lot of fun.”

Also, during the interview, Andy said that the network has been more mindful in looking into the backgrounds of potential cast members to avoid any more financial scandals or social media drama.

“I think we probably do more research now about people’s backgrounds than we did before,” he confirmed. “I think that there are just some things that you just can’t find out but hope for the best, hope for the best.”

During a separate interview with E! News, Andy added of the new RHONY cast, “I’m really excited for everyone to meet the new Real Housewives of New York City. This is a bold move. I’m glad Bravo was up for it, and it’s exciting, it’s scary, and I think it’s energizing.”

He then said that one of RHONY‘s previous seasons, in addition to others of the franchise, was deserving of an Emmy.

“I think that we’ve had several seasons in several cities that were just gangbusters that I could’ve picked that would’ve been good contenders for Emmys, [RHOA] season nine, RHONY.. I can’t remember the season numbers. [RHOBH] has had a few,” he claimed.

Andy also applauded the latest season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, which featured the return of Tamra Judge.

“Return to form for Orange County. It’s really good,” he praised. “There’s a lot going on in a lot of directions, and I think people are gonna be, they’re in for a great ride with that season.”

As for Kim and Kroy’s decision to call off their divorce, Andy said that he “didn’t see the divorce coming,” nor did he “see them back together coming.”

Moving onto the upcoming season of RHOBH, Andy said he “[loves]” Kyle and Mauricio as a couple and “[wants] them both to be happy” before teasing show drama between them.

“I think when you watch this season, maybe you’ll be a little less surprised,” he shared.
