CELEBRITY Big Brother star Fern Britton appeared to take a dig at her ex husband Phil Vickery on the ITV show – yet the real reason for their bitter split has now come to light.
The former This Morning anchor, 66, has been married twice, with her second seeing her get hitched to popular ITV daytime chef Phil Vickery, 62.

The pair left fans shocked when they announced their split four years ago, in January 2020.
It came after a 20-year marriage, which saw them tie the knot in 2000 after a year of Dating.
Telly presenter Fern previously told how she was “knocked for six” when their Relationship came to an abrupt end – and she hinted at the bad blood with a suspected swipe on CBB.
While performing a lively song and dance in the communal garden, she quipped: “I’ve got a life, I’ve got a life… thank God I’m nobody’s wife!”
Fans were quick to suspect the words referred to the foodie, who is still, a regular famous face on This Morning.
Yet now the reason for their break-up has come to light after she told how their marriage “fell apart” following a “family tragedy” – this being the death of her dad Tony in 2019 and mum Ruth a year earlier.
The mum of four explained on Good Morning Britain four years ago: “My mum died and my father died and unfortunately Phil and I fell apart.”
She added to a chat on the Book Club podcast: “Too much happened in the past Couple of years – I’ve lost my marriage and I moved out of what was our family home.”
Previously she told Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine how the break-up had affected her mental health.
She told the publication, “Looking back, I don’t think I was as sane as I thought I was at the time.

“I remember endless days of indolence, not being able to go anywhere, not doing anything, not wanting to get out of bed.
“I’m rebuilt and I’m doing okay. I was not suicidal, but life had knocked me for six. I was lost, then I found a bit of purpose again and it’s been lovely.”
She added, “We simply needed to follow our own paths.
“Over time we realised we weren’t necessarily having the kind of life we once did.
“It seemed right to say, ‘Thank you,’ and move on.”
