CELEBRITY Big Brother and X Factor legend Katie Waissel has taken a new swipe at Louis Walsh after the talent show judge entered the famous house.

Katie has famously spoken out about the damaging impact the music competition had on her after she was a finalist in the 2010 series, and the 38 year old admits seeing Louis on her TV screen again proved ‘triggering’.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Katie explained her reaction to witnessing Louis return to the public eye and walk through those iconic doors.

“It was a little bit triggering,” says Katie, who starred in the 2016 series of Celeb Big Brother where she finished. “My heart rate definitely increased. We didn’t interact too much [on The X Factor] as he was always focussed on his acts, but there was a lot that went down behind the scenes.

“I would do anything to go into the Celebrity Big Brother house and be like: ‘Excuse me, Louis, let me just ask you some questions.’ I’m sure he holds a lot of answers.

She adds: “I’m yet to understand why Louis is there, and what the method to his madness is. My guess is he needed a new home, now that the X Factor is no longer on ITV.”

While Katie may be wary of Louis, she had a more positive reaction to seeing Sharon Osbourne on the show.

“Sharon wasn’t a judge during my series, but I actually met her way back in 2009 when I opened for [former X Factor contestant] Andy Abrahams on his tour, and she was so cool.

“It would have been nice to have her on my season. I’m sure she would have stuck up for me, when it came to what was going on behind the scenes.”

After her experience on The X Factor, Katie claimed the show “ruined my life” and sought therapy after suffering from PTSD, panic attacks and suicidal thoughts.

Since doing the show, and her subsequent stint of Celebrity Big Brother, she has since left the industry altogether, had a son, Hudson, who is now five, and trained as a lawyer.

As well as planning to take legal action against Simon Cowell’s record company Syco Entertainment for allegedly breaching duty of care and negligence, Katie has set up her own business to protect others going through what she went through.

Her company, OWHL (which stands for Overseeing the welfare, human rights and liberty for all those in the creative industry sector) aims to ensure “the overall safety” of everyone from reality TV contestants to singers and presenters.

Katie also says she has been approached about working on a drama series loosely based on the behind the scenes goings on on shows like The X Factor.

“I’m very honoured and grateful that I’ve been approached by many different production companies and producers, as well as scriptwriters, because somebody was going to make a drama about it,” she explains.

Of course, rumours still do the rounds that The X Factor may be rebooted and return to screens after six years off air – but Katie is adamant that won’t happen.

“No, it won’t come back. Not on my watch, “ she shakes her head. “I don’t think it will come back anyway, given the music industry is very digital focused now. And also there’s been so many of us that have just called a spade a spade and spoken about our experiences on that show.”

Katie is far less scathing, however, about her time on Celebrity Big Brother.

“I’m so happy that it’s back, cause it’s just so iconic. It made me reflect on my time, I had such a good time, I really enjoyed it and I’m really excited to see what unfolds this time.”

As for who she wants to win, she believes there is only one man for the job.

“I absolutely love David Potts – he’s so authentic, he is who he is and says it,how it is. I just love his energy, and he’s also not afraid to be openly vulnerable as well.

“He might be a polarising personality, but he’ll also keep things spicy and he’ll definitely keep the show afloat.”

Celebrity Big Brother line-up

So who are the 13 stars expected to appear in the Celebrity Big Brother house? The Sun’s Jamie Downham takes a look…

Sharon Osbourne – TV legend – who is thought to be on a megabucks deal – said she was doing the show for “a good time not a long time”

Louis Walsh – Irish boyband manager who has never knowingly backed down from a fight. Sure to be a huge presence in the house.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu – We know from Love Island, the Ek-ster is not above throwing about some dramatics to claw her way to the final.

Levi Roots – Reggae Reggae Sauce sauce packs a bit of a kick, but its inventor seems quite mild-mannered. Will that change under pressure?

Fern Britton – The former This Morning star called out Phillip Schofield – don’t think she won’t do the same to anyone who tangles with her.

Colson Smith – You’ll probably know him best as Corrie’s Craig Tinker – but prepare to find out he’s not much like his character.

Dating/” rel=””>David Potts – Ibiza Weekender’s breakout star is sure to bring a bit of the party isle to the house… but will people appreciate it?

Gary Goldsmith – Kate Middleton’s uncle is a big signing for ITV, but very much an unknown quantity among viewers.

Marisha Wallace – Top Broadway star may fill the brief of ‘American who doesn’t know what they’ve let themselves in for’.

Nikita Kuzmin – The Strictly pro is coming onto the show fresh off the show’s tour. Poor lad probably just wants a rest.

Zeze Mills – the social media star has a “no holds barred interview style” – which is just what we need in there.

Bradley Riches – The actor played sweet James McEwan in Netflix hit Heartstopper. We’ll soon find out what he’s really like.

Lauren Simon – She’s a Real Housewives of Cheshire star and you don’t get on that show by being shy and retiring.
