You know you’re in the midst of a great Los Angeles party when the A-list attendees show up on time, even during a downpour. It’s even better when the attendees include a who’s who of award-nominated and fan-favorite stars from film, television, and the internet. And if the event stretches well past its end time, complete with an energetic dance party? You’ve got a real winner. Such was the case at Vanity Fair’s 2024 Vanities Party, cohosted by Instagram and Barry Keoghan, Charles Melton, and Hunter Schafer.

Mean Girls and Moana star Auli‘i Cravalho summed up the evening’s good vibes: “Most parties in LA, people don’t dance. But this party in particular, people are fucking it up on the dance floor, and I appreciate it!”

“I’m not much of a schmoozer,” she continued. “I’m here to dance and have a good time.”

The event’s three esteemed hosts, flanked by friends and admirers the entire evening, were equally enthusiastic about the experience at Hollywood’s famed Bar Marmont.

Keoghan, the first of the trio to arrive, admitted he likes any party where he gets to meet interesting people while maintaining a low-key profile. “This is brilliant because you can kind of see me, but you can’t. Know what I mean?” he joked of the venue’s dim mood lighting. The Saltburn star and Oscar nominee last year for The Banshees of Inisherin added that he had a speech prepared should his duties require one.

Keoghan also revealed that he’s currently living in Los Angeles, and has signed up to take weekly acting classes. “I’ve joined Stella Adler, the acting school. It was Mark Ruffalo who introduced me to it,” he said. “I didn’t grow up with any formal training [in acting] and I want to learn a bit of technique. There’s no limit on learning.”

He’s a happy new student, despite the skeptical reaction he received when he went to register. “They were almost like, ‘Why, though? You’re a [working] actor.’ I never trained; I want [those skills] in my back pocket.”

Schafer was next to arrive, and excited to mingle. “This is my first time hosting a party, and this is quite the party to start off with,” said The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes star, who brought several close friends along with her, including her sister Hannah.
