Zendaya just proved that if there’s one beauty trend to highlight at the 2024 Oscars, it’s clearly a natural manicure. From short nail lengths to natural polishes, when it came to nail designs on the red carpet this year, less was more. Zendaya in particular skilfully demonstrated how beautifully natural nails can be combined with sparkling dresses, chic hairstyles, and old Hollywood Glam make-up with a shade we’re calling “rosy glow nails.”
Even though the actor wasn’t nominated for an Oscar this year at least, she made sure to watch the Academy Awards live on location. And we’re always happy to see Zendaya on a red carpet, because she always guarantees a surprising and breathtaking look. (Just look at her press tour for Dune 2 for proof.) The 2024 Oscars was no exception. For the event, she wore a palm tree print dress by Giorgio Armani Privé that revealed a glittering corsage.

Her manicure must have been inspired by this shimmering fabric because it caught our eye with its subtle shine. The light pink nail design immediately reminded us of the “lip gloss nails” that were all the rage last year. Only that Zendaya takes them to the next level with the rosé shade. That is, “rosy glow nails.”

The shade is perfect for square nails in particular. Of course, in theory, you can combine “rosy glow nails” with any nail shape. However, Zendaya demonstrated how well the trend looks on square nails at the 2024 Oscars. And in doing so, she proved once and for all that yes, the nail shape can look extremely natural. How? By wearing them short and combining them with a natural polish. Sounds boring on paper, we know. But if you do it like Zendaya, it’s not.
Our prediction: Zendaya has just manifested a new nail trend. We have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more “rosy glow nails” this spring.
