Selena Gomez is not about to sleep on spring-summer Makeup. The beauty captain just dropped the details of her latest launch, the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush, and it’s honestly too gooooooood. Ahead of its release into Space NK on 4th April, GLAMOUR grabbed some time with Selena to get all the details on the blusher itself, the inspo behind it, how she likes to wear it and her ‘spring beauty era’.

Getting a kickstart on the trends, the new drop leans into the glossy glazed blush aesthetic that’s set to dominate spring-summer 2024. Essentially a highlighter and blush hybrid, the Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush takes the best of two of Selena’s favourite products and combines them into one superhero formula.

“I love the pigment I get from our liquid blushes, but I also love the glowy look our highlighters give, so it really inspired me to bring the beautiful pigment of liquid blush to a luminous powder. It has both the pigment that Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is known for and the glassy sheen of the Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter. I’m obsessed with it,” Selena proudly tells GLAMOUR.

The new recruit comes in six shades: Cheer (a light warm pink), Hope (a nude mauve), Happy (a cool pink), Joy (a muted peach), Truth (a mauve maroon) and Love (a terracotta) and swept across cheeks it radiates a glow from within.

Selena Gomez gave us the scoop on her delicious new glazed blush and her spring beauty era

I tried the shade Happy, which gives a pretty pink pinched glow and blends effortlessly for delicately sheeny cheeks. You can sheer it out for a subtle flush or build it up into a beautiful statement. But, Selena points out, you can get extra creative when it comes to building a statement cheek look. “I love layering my luminous powder blush on top of my liquid blush. One of my favourite combinations is the powder blush in Cheer over the liquid blush in Hope,” she tells us.

Application-wise, you can definitely experiment, but Selena did share one game-changer hack she picked up from her Glam squad. “My makeup artist taught me to apply blush higher up on the cheekbone for a more lifted look – it’s one of my favourite tips,” she spills.
