It was revealed recently that Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix would be replacing Sarah Hyland as the host of Love Island USA. Of course, most people were happy for Ariana, but news is coming out that Sarah was told of the replacement in an unceremonious way.
Sarah hosted Love Island USA for seasons four and five. As fans know, Ariana is currently starring on Broadway as Roxy Hart in Chicago. Since the cheating scandal, Ariana has gotten quite a few high-profile jobs that some of her cast members have been accused of seeming jealous of.
And now, Sarah is revealing she found out she was being replaced as the host of Love Island through a text message.
The former Modern Family star took to Instagram to say, “Well, just got a text. I’m disappointed the news had to break this way, but it is, in fact, true I will not be returning to the island this summer. “
She then explained why she was being replaced.
“I have committed to an exciting project that will be announced too, that conflicts directly with the shooting dates for LOVE ISLAND USA. While I’m sad I can’t return, I hope to see lots of love this summer on Peacock this upcoming season!”
Of course, many Love Island fans are sad to see Sarah go as the host plays a big part in the show. However, there is excitement over Ariana’s hosting. Fans will recall that Ariana made the announcement in between Broadway shows while still in Makeup.
She starts the video below by saying, “Talk about a bombshell. This summer, I’m trading rhinestone buckles for bikinis.”
While fans in the comments were mostly happy, it seems there were also quite a few shady opinions. In fact, many of them mentioned Scheana possibly being jealous. Others misunderstood why she was wearing her makeup the way she was.
One fan couldn’t help but ask about Scheana:
“But did you tell Scheana first?”
Another acknowledged the iconic nature of the announcement:
“It’s iconic that she had to film this exciting announcement between rehearsals for her successful Broadway show because she is that booked and busy! Congratulations! I’m going to start watching Love Island for the first time ever now.”
Fans can watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo on Tuesday nights.
