When fashion week rolls around, we can always expect Emma Chamberlain to take some major fashion and beauty risks. From wearing a watch as a necklace to debuting super blunt bangs, Chamberlain isn’t afraid to take a bet on a daring new look.

So, it comes as no surprise that she’d jump on the polarizing skirt-over-pants trend. This look is making a comeback thanks to the Y2K resurgence, but not without its share of naysayers. (After all, pictures of celebrities wearing skirts over pants on red carpets from the 2000s have become memes throughout the past few years.) However, many of fashion’s finest, like Emma Chamberlain herself, are up for the challenge of styling a skirt over pants.

Chamberlain’s latest look proved the skirt-over-pants look can be ultra chic. At the Courrèges Fall-Winter 2024/2025 show during Paris Fashion Week, Chamberlain went with an all-black monochrome look that was far from tame. For starters, she wore a leather backless bodysuit with a daring cut-out that started at the chest and went below the belly button. She tucked the top into a pair of bootcut jeans that were layered over a matching denim mini skirt. As for the details, she wore a pair of chunky leather heels and carried a small leather handbag. To complete the look, she opted for a pair of rectangular sunglasses, hoop earrings, and a black bangle.

While we didn’t see much of her Makeup due to the sunglasses, her nude lipstick did match the edgy feel of her outfit. She also parted her hair in the middle and wore it behind her ears for a sleek chic look.

In an interview with Teen Vogue earlier this year, Chamberlain revealed that she loves to experiment with fashion and beauty for special occasions like Fashion Week. “I really play when there’s an editorial shoot, a red carpet, or a fashion show. It’s those moments,” she said. “I’m so fortunate that I get to attend those things so that I have an excuse to get all dolled up and play. My makeup artists and clothing stylists — we play. We love to take risks.” Well, it looks like the skirt-over-pants trend was a risk worth taking!
