Downcast Gemma Collins ditches her huge engagement ring from fiance Rami as she shops in Essex

GEMMA Collins looked downbeat as she was spotted without her “huge big sparkler” engagement ring.

The Sun was first to reveal the TOWIE legend, 43, is set to be a wife following a stunning proposal in the Maldives by her fiance Rami Hawash, 49.

Gemma‘s elation at being a bride-to-be has led to her sharing numerous snaps of the diamond band with her social media followers.

Yet while running errands she had removed the bling – and looked down in the dumps without it.

The Diva Forever star dressed all in black with her hair piled on her head in an up-do as she did the food shop.

Gemma was seen passing around in bright white trainers and clutching a water bottle and her car keys in her right hand.

Yet on her left hand, adorned with a pretty pink manicure, her ring was nowhere to be seen.

Previously we told how the proposal took the former Celebrity Big Brother personality completely by surprise left her in tears.

At the time, a source told The Sun: “Rami popped the question again in the Maldives, and Gemma had no idea it was coming, she was so shocked.

“She is absolutely thrilled and she can’t believe it is finally happening.

“Rami had flown out hundreds of roses and there were thousands of petals. She didn’t know what was happening until a huge platter of cakes came out and as Gemma started eating her mango dessert, Rami surprised her and said, ‘look at that’.

“He had lit up, ‘Will You Marry Me?’ on the sand.

“Gemma had no idea, she thought they were having a relaxing dinner on the beach, she had no Makeup on, it was a beautiful natural moment and she couldn’t have wished for anything more.

“He got down on one knee, the ring was in a shell. It was such a beautiful moment and of course she cried.”

The source added: “Yes, the ring is absolutely amazing. It’s a huge big sparkler.”

Gemma and Rami were first engaged 11 years ago but they split as she wasn’t ready to settle down.

Despite only just cementing the marriage commitment, she is already planning an epic hen party.
