The BRIT Awards is the biggest night in the UK music calendar, but alongside celebrating both homegrown and international artists, it’s an opportunity for all kinds of expression – and it’s ripe ground for some seriously covetable and experimental beauty looks.

The great and good of the industry are descending on the O2 with performances from Dua Lipa, Raye and Kylie Minogue, so we know there’ll be plenty of top-tier hair and Makeup inspo.

Charli XCX mesmerised us with edgy wet-look waves. “We wanted to create a very long mermaid-esque hair look that felt polished with a hard undertone,” her hair stylist, Syd Hayes, told GLAMOUR. “Charli has such amazing hair, it’s always fun to create something that’s a little bit niche,” he added. Syd used the Babyliss deep waver to give a ridged wave to the mid-lengths and ends, then he used the Hair By Sam McKnight Self Control Gel and a finger-wave technique around the face, but to keep it feeling modern, he left a piece in front of her eats to frame and contour her face.

XXL hair length was the theme of the night. Ellie Goulding wore her slightly side-parted hair down to her waist, while PinkPantheress served up ultra-long liquid strands with see-through bang – and Mel B gave us a waist-length Sporty Spice ponytail.

Rising Star Award winners The Last Dinner Party served up goth coquette-core, with lead singer Abigail Morris rocking a shaggy curly mullet; lead guitarist Emily Roberts giving us the heaviest flicked liner; vocalist and guitarist Lizzie Mayland wearing and edgy mullet-pixie; keyboardist Aurora Nishevci serving a wet-look bixie and bass guitarist Georgia Davies opting for waist-length pre-raphaelite waves. The style was also favoured by Olivia Dean, who wore glossy crimped waves down her back.

Elsewhere, singer, Debbie, skipped trad eyeshadow for pearl crystals scattered around her eyes, with the detail repeated at the end of her Braids. Dua Lipa kept her cherry cola hair worn simple, softly-straight and centre-parted, which she paired with an ultra-feline liner. And multi-nominee Raye, of course, opted for her full-retro glamour, pairing her trademark ’60s rolled bob with a phenomenal graphic smoky eye.

Natural textured hair was out in beautiful force, too. AJ Odudu teased her curls out for maximum volume, Nia Archives’ cheekbone length curly bob was giving bone structure, Clara Amfo gave us height with a coily half-updo and Fleur East gave us a full-bodied ’60s-inspired afro (alongside the cutest baby bump).
