Ryan Hurd still seems to be feeling some pain after his divorce from Maren Morris.

After their super short divorce, the 37-year-old musician took to Instagram along with his buddy Teddy Reimer to share a video covering Taylor Swift‘s Now That We Don’t Talk. He wrote in the caption:

“Now That We Don’t Talk from Teddy’s Studio. Every time I cover a Taylor song I am amazed at how perfectly they are written. Hope everybody has a beautiful week, let us know what you think of this one and share it with yo frands. (also, go listen to [my EP] Platonic in honor of the second verse) @taylorswift”

In case you haven’t heard it, the song is a super emotional and follows the feelings of moving on from a breakup. It’s a From The Vault track on 1989 (Taylor’s Version) — and the song choice alone makes it pretty clear Ryan is still in his feelings about his and Maren’s breakup, considering the lyrics:

“I call my mom, she said that it was for the best / Remind myself the more I gave, you’d want me less / I cannot be your friend / So I pay the price of what I lost / And what it cost / Now that we don’t talk”

Ouch! Right in the feels!

Ch-ch-check out his cover (below):

This song has a VERY different vibe from the one his ex covered post-breakup. She previously took to TikTok in celebration as she sang a cover of  Tammy Wynette‘s iconic D-I-V-O-R-C-E! Looks like despite their quick and to-the-point settlement, these two are in different places of their healing process.

Reactions, Perezcious readers?
