NIGEL Harman has shared a lengthy post about gratitude after a difficult weekend on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 50-year-old, who is now a meditation coach, appeared in a reflective mood this morning and told his followers he was “focusing on emotions”.

Last night Nigel appeared to storm off the Strictly stage after judges panned his quickstep.

The actor and pro partner Katya Jones’ routine to Duke Ellington’s It Don’t Mean A Thing left them second from bottom of the judges’ leaderboard.

And Nigel was visibly crestfallen as Craig Revel Horwood said: “The footwork, my love — it went wrong quite a bit.”

He hung his head as Anton Du Beke added: “Well, it’s a shame as you’re such a brilliant dancer. It’s just amazing and then you have made a Couple of mistakes.”

And, in footage with 1.4million views on social media, he is seen darting backstage within seconds of the BBC cameras stopping shooting.

Back in meditation mode today, Nigel told his followers: “Today’s meditation explores how practising gratitude regularly can help cultivate a more positive mindset and increase feelings of well-being and contentment.”

He continued: “Ask yourself, ‘What am I grateful for today?’

“Don’t overthink it, it doesn’t need to be deep, it can be family, friends, or a favourite walk or mug. Just something that brings a little smile or comfort. Bring this image or person to mind and notice how it feels in the body, using a curious, kind attention.

“Allowing this positive feeling of gratitude to fill the entire being. And when you’re ready, opening the eyes.”

Nigel added: “Trying to think about all the things you are grateful for can help bring awareness as you go through the day. Don’t worry if you find this hard initially, asking the question is a good start. Over time you will notice there are things to be grateful for everywhere.”

His followers were quick to respond and offer in support, with one person saying: “You both did so well on Saturday. Hated seeing you so upset. You didn’t let the show down so try not to beat yourself up about it.”

Another told him: “Don’t let the need to please the judges take away your joy of dancing.”

“Do not let the scores or comments upset you,” a further person added.

But despite his score of 31, he avoided the dance-off at Blackpool‘s Tower Ballroom thanks to viewers’ votes.

Instead it was Angela Rippon, 79, and Bobby Brazier, 20, forced to go again — with Angela and partner Kai Widdrington getting the boot.
