Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer, who played on-and-off again Couple Rachel Green and Ross Geller on Friends, have released tributes to their co-star Matthew Perry. Following the leads of Matt LeBlanc and Courteney Cox, Aniston and Schwimmer individually took to Instagram to pay tribute to the late actor, who died on October 28 at the age of 54.

The Morning Show star posted two photos involving Perry on Instagram. The first is a black-and-white image of the two actors laughing together on set, Perry with his script in hand. The second is a screenshot of text messages exchanged between the two. Apparently, Perry sent Aniston the black-and-white photo out of the blue, then texted Aniston “making you laugh just made my day. It made my day” with a smiley faced emoji. Aniston responded, “Aww the first of THOUSANDS times,” and ended her message with star-eyed emojis and hearts.

In a lengthy Instagram caption, Aniston expounded on her love for Perry and her grieving process. “Oh boy this one has cut deep… Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before,” wrote Aniston. “We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love. Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deep. And we loved him deeply.”

Aniston emphasized the closeness of the Friends cast, saying that Perry was “such a part of our DNA” and that it was “always the 6 of us.” “This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be,” she continued. “For Matty, he KNEW he loved to make people laugh. As he said himself, if he didn’t hear the ‘laugh’ he thought he was going to die. His life literally depended on it. And boy did he succeed in doing just that. He made all of us laugh. And laugh hard.”

Aniston ended her tribute to Perry with a nod to Perry’s singular comedic cadence, bidding farewell to her “little brother” Perry. “Matty, I love you so much and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain,” she wrote. “I talk to you every day… sometimes I can almost hear you saying “could you BE any crazier? Rest little brother. You always made my day…”
