One creator, Michaela (@yhkayla) told users, “I want to try the Pamela Anderson bun on short greasy hair. Hopefully, this works.” Breaking down the look she explains: “Pamela has a fringe, but I don’t so I’m going to take this very front section of my hair and use that as bangs later.” For short-haired girls who want the extra length, Michaela recommends extensions.

“I’m going to take just a few hair extension singles and I’m just going to clip these in random places in my hair so that I have hair to pull out of the bun,” she says, advising “clip them in the direction of the ponytail so it’s flat on your head.”

“Now what I’m going to do is brush it up into a high-ish ponytail,” she says. Tie your hairband around the ponytail, but on the last wrap, don’t pull the hair all the way through. Just pull it halfway through to create a loop of hair, with the ends loose and facing forward out of the bun.

“On the last time around, you just want to fold the hairband in half and pull it out as much as you can,” she adds. “Then just spread it out and pin random sections until you get the shape you like. ” Michaela used the GHD styler to curl the loose ends of the bun, and the face-framing sections at the front. “I think that worked pretty well,” she concluded, and we’d have to concur.
