Gigi Hadid is no stranger to the summertime photodump with carousels typically showcasing bronzed limbs, signature cocktails, and designer labels. But for her latest update on Instagram, the only label to be found in her 10-pic post Monday was “mom.”
In a rare move, five of her photos feature Khai, the almost-3-year-old daughter Hadid shares with ex-boyfriend-slash-ex-One Direction member Zayn Malik. Or at least, the pics feature her limbs—Hadid as a rule does not share photos of her child’s face. Still other photos don’t actually show Khai, but imply her presence—unless Hadid or any of her pals are living that dishwasher-friendly shatterproof divided plate, no crusts on my white bread sandwich please and thank you. In the final slide, Hadid and Khai cheers with strawberry-dipped ice pops, with Khai wrapped in a fuzzy pastel rainbow bathrobe that, as many, many parents with an Amazon Prime membership and a stylish young person in their life can attest, almost definitely has a unicorn horn and embroidered eyelashes on the hood out of frame.

The toddler-heavy update comes weeks after Hadid and a friend were arrested for marijuana possession in the Cayman Islands on July 10th, where she reportedly paid a fine for the infraction. Soon after, ex-boyfriend Malik also lifted his personal interview embargo for the first time in over half a decade and dished on the past “negativity” between himself and Hadid’s family. Malik and Hadid split custody of Khai 50-50, though Malik said that “if I could get 60%, I would have it.”
Hadid’s summer social update is a sweet contrast to her usual shares, which typically skew more Runway and resort than mom-coded U-Pick blueberries and sun-dappled afternoons frolicking in the yard.
See Hadid feed a horse! Pick blueberries! Garden in a bikini! Go in…a boat? Pay no attention to the drama behind the curtain, the drop seems to plead. Just mom stuff here! Isn’t that nice?
