Rauw Alejandro and Rosalía have ended their engagement. People confirmed the news on July 25. The stars have yet to publicly comment on the split. Representatives for Rosalía did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment, and representatives for Alejandro could not be reached.
The music superstars first met at a Las Vegas hotel lounge during the 2019 Latin Grammys, and it was “100%” love at first sight for Alejandro, he told Billboard in March. After months of messaging each other on Instagram, the pair began Dating, and they went public with their romance on Instagram in September 2021.
Two years later, Alejandro and Rosalía confirmed their engagement in a PDA-filled music video for their song “Beso.” The track is part of a three-song EP, “RR,” which they released in March. Rosalía said of waiting to collaborate musically, “We wanted to make our Relationship solid and build its foundations, and then, if music was meant to come, it would come,” per Billboard.
Alejandro added: “Plus, we were in different stages in our careers, and we wanted to make our fans focus on what we were doing, which was our individual projects. People love drama in the entertainment world, and a romantic relationship will always take precedence. We felt if ours came to light, the effort we’ve both done toward our projects and our music would come second.”
