Talking about this track, MAVICA said: “‘sometimes a person never comes back (but that’s okay)’ was the last track that I wrote for the album. It gave a name and sense to the concept. I had been unintentionally writing songs for two years without thinking they were connected. This song gave me the sudden realization that sometimes you need to let go of people to grow on your own and evolve, and also the realization that this was the concept that I had been writing about for years. Everything made sense, it was shocking. The name came to me after seeing an amazing exhibition of Ida Applebroog. I came back home and I wrote the song. It didn’t change much from that day. A week after, I sent it to all my friends, who had been part of the torturous process I went through writing this album, I asked them to sing with me in the last chorus. I felt so supported for once, it felt like all my friends gave me a big hug.”
