LeBron and Savannah’s eldest child announced his commitment to play basketball for the University of Southern California, writing via Instagram, “Fight On âœŒđŸŸ #committed.”

Bronny’s dad praised his final decision. “I’m proud of him. This is an incredible thing,” LeBron said in a post-game press conference at the time. “Unless it was one of my great-grandmothers or great-grandfathers or someone way before my time, to my knowledge this is the first one out of the James Gang to go to college.”

Two months later, Bronny suffered cardiac arrest during a USC basketball practice and was rushed to the hospital. “Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital,” a spokesperson for the James family told Us Weekly. “He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.”

TMZ reported in July 2023 that 911 was called to USC’s Galen Center, and Bronny was transported to the hospital by ambulance while unconscious.
