Probably one of the quickest rising artists in the R&B circuit, Gabzy is proving to be a force to be reckoned with, and this week he dropped the slow-burn R&B jam single, titled “Hear Me Out”. He has released this new single in celebration of selling out his Somerset House concert. The release of this track acts as the follow-up to his previous single “Jambazz”.

Gabzy, the emerging talent hailing from South East London, is making waves as one of the UK’s most captivating artists. His musical journey gained momentum with the release of the collaborative EP “Summers” in 2019, showcasing his distinct fusion of R&B, soul, and afrobeats alongside New York-based producer melvitto. Gabzy’s solo debut EP “Malone” received critical acclaim, propelling him to a sold-out headline show at the esteemed Islington Assembly Hall. With his sophomore EP “At The End Of The Night”, Gabzy embarked on a highly successful UK tour, including memorable performances at the iconic KOKO in Camden. Blending introspective lyrics, captivating melodies, powerful vocals, and magnetic stage presence, Gabzy has garnered a devoted fanbase and over two million monthly listeners on Spotify, whilst his feature on melvitto’s single, ‘Stay’, is his most-streamed track on the platform with over 42.9 million streams; his feature on melvitto’s ‘In Fact’, as well as his collaborative single with melvitto titled ‘Trouble’, are just behind at 36.7 million and 32.5 million streams, respectively.. His genre-bending sound has captured the attention of renowned tastemakers, including BBC Radio 1, MTV Base, BBC 1Xtra, KISS FM, and GRM Daily, solidifying his position as a rising star in the UK and global music scene. With an authentic passion for music and a unique artistic vision, Gabzy continues to defy expectations and cement his place as a standout talent to watch.

Written by Gabzy, whilst it was produced by Dera, “Hear Me Out” is a gentle guitar-strum-driven track that gives focus to the simple rhythm and the incredible heartfelt vocals. Infusing afrobeats into R&B, Gabzy fully impresses with the addictive melodies that are created around the incredible guitar strums and hand claps and finger clicks, creating a mesmerising backing track that is full of relaxing vibes allowing the vocals and lyrics to completely shine. While the backing track is beyond awesome, it’s the honesty, integrity, and authenticity coming from the vocals and lyrics that truly capture the listeners, with Gabzy delving in deep into his apologies and complete belief that they can work through their Relationship issues. We love how raw and real he is with the lyrics and his voice, but we also love the layered chorus which adds a refreshing double lyric line with the words, “Don’t say that”, which has us reminiscing of the ’00s hit “It Wasn’t Me” by Shaggy featuring RikRok – we need more double lyric lines in choruses as they’re remarkably catchy. Gabzy has truly dropped an unforgettable laid-back afrobeats-R&B track with “Hear Me Out” which is set to make an impact on every listener and stay with them for the rest of the year.

Talking about the track, Gabzy said: “In terms of the song and what it represents, it speaks for everyone that’s been in a relationship that hasn’t necessarily worked. You know when you get to that turning point where it feels like everything is just going wrong – this song captures that battle for the relationship. I’m trying to prove to my girl that I’m a changed person, but as they say, ‘your past always catches up with you’. For the listeners, I want them to feel like they’re in the middle of our intense argument, and it’s like ‘woah this could really be it’.”
