Drake isn’t interested in taking the plunge and walking down the aisle – not right now or potentially forever!
During an appearance on The Real Good Podcast with Bobbi Althoff on Thursday, the 36-year-old rapper opened up about his love life, revealing the reason he hasn’t settled down with anyone yet. Calling the concept of marriage “a thing of ancient times,” he said:
“I don’t know. It seems like a thing of, like, ancient times or something. I think I will eventually. I don’t know, I don’t think I can offer somebody what they’d be looking for. Just consistency. I think my life, my work is my priority.”

When the podcast host joked that Drake refuses to get serious with someone in order to continue “sleeping around,” he immediately shut the claim down! The Degrassi alum explained his decision not to get married all comes down to the fact that he can’t offer “consistency” or a lot of energy into a Relationship “at this stage” in his life:
“I don’t wanna get married ’cause like, I just don’t wanna disappoint someone.”
At least he’s honest about it! And we guess he can just keep adding diamonds to that necklace instead. You know, the one he famously had made for him that included a whopping 42 stones and 351.38 carats in diamonds to rep all the time he thought about popping the question to women. Lolz! But if Drake does ever plan on getting hitched, he made it clear on the podcast he doesn’t plan on being with another celeb:
“I probably will not end up marrying someone famous. Famous people really aren’t that, like, anything — they’re not that intriguing.”
So what is he looking for instead? Apparently, Drake is all about individuality. He shared on the episode that he wants “somebody that’s an individual,” adding:
“I like somebody that’s, like, their own. They’re not just not like a carbon copy, like a person that I’ve seen a bunch of times throughout my existence. I like somebody with a sense of humor, you know? I like — I don’t know, like, cosplay.”
Althofff then questioned:
“What do you want them to dress up as?”
To which Drake replied:
“No, I don’t need them to [dress up] — I probably will f**k with them more if they are into cosplay. Not with me, just like generally.”
