“Descendants” actress Sofia Carson stars in this dance comedy as April, an aspiring performer who — after she fails to land a role on Broadway — returns home to Wisconsin, where she’s tasked with training a group of young outcasts for a major dance competition. Though she’s reluctant to do so, that changes when she learns that the competition gives her an opportunity to perform in front of Broadway producer Welly Wong, who could potentially save her dance career.
