And just like that, Riley Curry is 11 years old! The oldest daughter of Ayesha and Steph Curry celebrated her birthday on Wednesday (Jul. 19). Riley’s parents took to Instagram to celebrate their daughter’s special day.
“My first born is 11,” Ayesha exclaimed. “We can’t believe it,” the celebrity mom added. “Time has just flown by,” Mrs. Curry said. “I am so proud of my sweet, smart, talented, captivating big girl. It’s a joy being her mama. Riley Roo is 11.”
Many know Riley from her 2015 debut. The youngster attended a post-game interview with her father that went viral. Some scrutinized Riley and Steph for the segment, which featured Riley in all of her toddler energy. Many, however, appreciated the youngster’s boldness.
“As if I needed another reason to love Steph,” one fan shared. “His daughter melted my heart.” Another supporter said, “It’s just funny how she doesn’t know and care about this being an international press conference and her Dad being a huge star. She’s like, ‘He’s just daddy. Like, yeah, the one I see every morning, being scolded by mom, cleaning the toilet. Just daddy!’”
Riley made a huge splash during her father’s press conference. The youngster’s mom, however, recently expressed regret about sharing her daughter with the world at such a young age.
“When the social media thing started, nobody knew what that was going to become,” Ayesha Curry said during an interview with Insider. “If we had known back in the day just how chaotic it would make life, I don’t think we would’ve done it,” the celebrity mom admitted.
“But we were just genuinely living our lives back then,” Ayesha shared. “And we thought, ‘This is our kid. We’re bringing our kid along.’”
In addition to Riley, Ayesha and Steph Curry have a younger daughter, Ryan, and a son, Canon, together.
