“Prey,” released in 2022, puts its own twist on the Predator franchise. In the movie, directed by Dan Trachtenberg and written by Patrick Aison, Amber Midthunder plays Naru, a Comanche warrior who needs to protect her tribe from a predator. Set in 1719, it blends historical fiction with all the thrills of the Predator films, breathing new life into old tropes.
