Jamie Foxx is currently recovering from an undisclosed medical situation.  According to an Instagram posted by his daughter Corinne Foxx, the Oscar winner  “experienced a medical complication” and has already been treated by doctors. She added that he is now on the road to recovery.

“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” reads the post on behalf of the Foxx family. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

At the time of the undisclosed medical complication, Foxx was in Atlanta shooting the feature film Back in Action, a Netflix comedy starring Foxx and his Annie costar Cameron Diaz (in her first feature film role in almost 10 years). Back in Action also stars Fleabag’s Andrew Scott and Jamie Demetriou and is directed by Seth Gordon, who directed Foxx in the film Horrible Bosses.

A consummate multihyphenate, Foxx began his career as a comedian, joining the cast of In Living Color and then starring in the sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show from 1996 to 2001. He soon transitioned to more serious acting fare, earning two Academy Award nominations in the same year in 2005 for Collateral and Ray, ultimately winning the best actor Oscar for Ray. Foxx is also an accomplished musician, pianist, and singer, with five albums under his belt, the last four of which cracked the US top 10; he also has a Grammy award for his single “Blame It.” Recently, he made headlines for his uncanny Donald Trump impression.

Foxx’s spokesperson Alan Nierob declined to share any further information about Foxx’s condition beyond the Instagram post, telling CNN “nothing more, at this time, than what was posted.”
