AMIR Khan’s reality TV show has been axed after three series amid the news he has been banned from boxing.

The Bolton boxer, 36, tested positive for an illegal substance following his defeat to Kell Brook last year and will not be allowed back in the ring for two years.

Alongside his boxing career, Amir appeared with stunning wife Faryal and their children in the hit BBC programme Meet the Khans: Big in Bolton, but is has now been “put on ice”.

The BBC Three show first aired in 2021 and followed the sports star and his influencer wife as they travelled between the UK and Dubai.

Following the success of the first eight part series, the Couple took part in another six parts before the third, which lasted just five episodes and aired in January 2023.

An insider told The Sun: “The BBC series is on ice for now – that doesn’t mean that there won’t be talks about a fourth series in the future – but at the moment there are no plans to make a fourth.”

Another source added: “The door certainly isn’t closed on cameras following the Khans again in the future.”

Amir’s rep tells The Sun: “Meet the Khans was originally a three part series agreement. Amir is focused on his I’m A Celebrity South Africa appearance.”

The I’m A Celebrity South Africa series was pre-recorded last year – but will air on 24th April.

Amir retired following the defeat to his Brit rival – for which he pocketed a staggering £5million.

But now it has emerged Khan – Olympic silver medallist in 2004 – tested positive for ostarine in the aftermath of the defeat.

Khan has claimed ingestion of the banned substance was not intentional.

Ostarine is a drug designed to have similar effects to testosterone, used by athletes and bodybuilders to boost muscle mass and performance.

However, it has also been used to treat muscle-wasting diseases and osteoporosis.

The result of Khan’s fight against Brook has now been wiped out.

His ban has been backdated to start immediately after the 2022 fight and will run until April 2024.

The BBC have been approached for comment.
