Continuing to show that games collaborating with EDM artists lead to some of the most addicting tracks in the world, Alok has teamed up with Honor of Kings, which is one of the world’s most-played Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games, with the new single “Ready Set Go”. The track has been officially released alongside the ninth volume of his label imprint’s compilation series album, titled “CONTROVERSIA by Alok Vol. 009”. These new releases follow the Mark Knight remix of his collaboration with James Arthur, titled “Work With My Love”.
Alok, full name Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo, is a Brazillian musician, DJ, and producer, who has had a number of global hits and is known as one of the top DJs in the world. He has gone on to release remixes for the likes of The Rolling Stones, Zara Larsson, Ed Sheeran, Masked Wolf, and Joel Corry & Jax Jones; collaborated with superstars such as INNA, Sofi Tukker, Ina Wroldsen, Jason Derulo, Tove Lo, John Legend, and Ella Eyre; and performed all over the world. He is best known for his 2016 collaboration with Bruno Martini, titled “Here Me Now” featuring Zeeba, which hit the charts globally and currently has 652.4 million Spotify streams. The trio collaborated a second time in 2017 on the single “Never Let Me Go” and once again proved that they are a fierce team as it also gained incredible streams, currently at 213 million on the platform. More recently, he released a collaboration with Ella Eyre and Kenny Dope, titled “Deep Down” featuring Never Dull, which has seen him gain success in many countries, including the UK where it managed to hit the Official UK Top 100 as well as the US Billboard dance chart, and it currently has over 100 million Spotify streams, not far behind Alok’s collaboration with Ilkay Sencan, titled “Don’t Say Goodbye” featuring Tove Lo, and his collaboration with MC Don Juan & DJ GBR, titled “Liberdade (Quando o Grave Bate Forte)”, which are at 208.9 million Spotify streams and 148.7 million Spotify streams, respectively. As of this year, he was listed as the fourth-best DJ in the world according to DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs. 2022 seemed to be a brilliant year for Alok so we cannot wait to see what 2023 will bring him.
He teamed up with Tencent’s game-developing studios, Level Infinite and TiMi Studio Group, to release the song in connection with Honor of Kings, which manages to get more than 100 million users on a daily basis, around the world. Using Hans Zimmer’s original melody, Alok has added future tech-style bass, uplifting the track and transforming it into a tense atmospheric production, preparing every listener for battle. This Brazilian DJ has implemented tech house beats to turn the track into a futuristic battle soundtrack, overlayed with vocals which gears up the listeners for what they’re about to go and do, cheering us on as we battle it out in Honor of Kings. This is the track we need to hear before battle as it’s full of inspirational beats that will certainly help us get the win.
An in-game event will kick off in support of the release of the track, which grants access to extra features for players such as emojis, avatars, and tracking effects, among others, that are available for free for a limited time. Then, in early May, be prepared for an amazing music video that will see Alok once again collaborate with Honor of Kings, for an unforgettable visual. Level Infinite and TiMi Studio Group chose Brazil to receive the first international release of Honor of Kings, with the right to a Brazilian server, translated menus, and dubbing in Portuguese. EDM and gaming really are connecting on a whole new level and as the months go by, we reckon more collaborations between gaming developers and music artists, in general, will be released, and Alok really is at the forefront of this era – watch this space.
