Rachel Recchia Supports “Queen” Gabi Elnicki After Bachelor Finale Drama

Former Bachelorette star Rachel Recchia has turned the tables on Zach Shallcross. After the Season 27 Bachelor called her “inauthentic” and poor at communication, Rachel is coming out in support of Gabi Elnicki. Apparently, Rachel wasn’t much impressed with Zach’s communication skills either.

For those without a scorecard, Zach had Sex-in-the-fantasy-suite-rule-bites-him-in-the-ass/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>unilaterally decided at the beginning of Fantasy Suite Week that there would be “no sex of any kind” during “Sex Week.” But then, he and Gabi consensually decided to have sex during their alone time.

Afterward, Zach felt so guilty about breaking his promise, he went on a confessional tour and told the world. Gabi felt Zach had broken her trust. Something that should have been “just between us,” was now “between us [and] everyone else.” Zach was clearing his guilty conscience and breaking Gabi’s heart at the same time.

Following her breakup with Zach, the Vermont native confronted him at the After the Final Rose taping. “I feel ashamed [of] a moment that felt like love to me,” Gabi told him. “It’s very painful. I wish you would have just sent me home and saved me all the pain.”

Us Weekly reported that while watching the Bachelor finale at home, Rachel was moved to weigh in. “Showing emotion like this takes so much vulnerability, gabi you are a queen!” the flight instructor tweeted.

Even though Zach did his best to rationalize the shitty way he’d treated Gabi, he eventually got around to apologizing. “In my mind, it was just the secret that I had to not have,” he said of confessing to now-fiancée Kaity Biggar. “From the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry.”

Rachel also hearted a Twitter post by Bachelorette alum Jason Tartick, in which he suggested making both of Zach’s runner-ups future Bachelorettes. “Go back to back to back Bachelorettes, Charity [Lawson] to [Gabi] to Ariel [Frenkel] . . . put the guys on the back burner #TheBachelorFinale.” I think Ariel is too smart and too classy to want anything else to do with this show. She has better things to do. But I’d love to see Gabi get the chance to find love on her own terms.

At the finale’s end, fans saw Zach get down on one knee and propose to Kaity. When host Jesse Palmer tried to stir things up asked the travel nurse her feelings about the Zach and Gabi situation, she admitted that it had been hard to watch back and she never wanted to watch that particular episode again. “[But] We came out stronger in the end.”

TELL US – WHAT DO YOU THINK OF JASON’S IDEA OF HAVING THREE BACK-TO-BACK BACHELORETTES? WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE GABI HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE AT LOVE?
