Last Thursday, Angelina Jolie joined billionaire heir David Mayer de Rothschild, a member of the RICHEST family in the world, for a lunch outing in Malibu, California — talk about when worlds collide! The iconic duo spent three hours chatting it up oceanside at celebrity sushi hot spot Nobu before the two made their way to their respective cars — and it looked like things went well!
In photos acquired by Page Six, Angie can be seen in an elegant black dress with tasteful cutouts to show off a bit of her midriff, which she paired with matching black heels, sunglasses, and long, flowing locks. As for Rothschild, he was spotted in a gray sweater, navy blue slacks, a black jacket and matching loafers — along with a pop of color thanks to some zany orange-striped socks.

The best accessory of all, though, was the Tomb Raider star’s ear-to-ear grin as a similarly smiley Rothschild escorted her from the famous restaurant. See (below):

While it wasn’t immediately made clear what exactly the lunch Date entailed — and whether it was romantic or business-oriented — an insider told People Monday it was the latter. As we all know, the Maleficent star has spent years dedicating her life to charity and activism, and according to the source, her outing with the billionaire British environmentalist, which was reportedly accompanied by a small group, was for an unspecified business meeting.
Damn, we were already beginning to ship the two!

The meeting comes months after Angie stepped away from her role as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Special Envoy in December, which the UNHCR announced in a lengthy statement. At the time, the Girl, Interrupted star explained:
“I am grateful for the privilege and opportunity I have had to work with so many outstanding and dedicated UNHCR field officers and other colleagues doing lifesaving work globally, and to serve as Special Envoy. I will continue to do everything in my power in the years to come to support refugees and other displaced people.”
Makes us wonder exactly what she and Rothschild have in the works! Her own organization maybe?
As for her love life, the Changeling star was spotted accompanying The Weeknd on a few dates back in 2021, before joining fellow actor Paul Mescal for coffee back in January. Who knows, maybe Angie’s business with Rothschild will lead to something more? For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
