Beach days are fun days! Tia Mowry and her daughter, Cairo Hardrict, spent a day at the ocean last week. The mother-daughter duo was joined by family friends who also spent time with the waves.
“I am so happy I got to spend some time with my beautiful cousin @flowersake and my sweet daughter, Cairo, at the beach,” Tia told her social media fans. “There is something so beautiful and healing that I have found in my friendships with the women in my life, and I want to spotlight the amazing Black women in my community who have been an essential part of my journey,” the celebrity mom shared.
“There is understanding, compassion, and empathy that are built into these friendships, and an undeniable sense of affirmation that comes from being with my girls,” Tia said of her support system. “As I continue to grow and heal, I want my little girl to also know and understand the beauty of Black Girl Magic,” Mowry declared.
Tia has been on quite the healing journey since announcing her divorce from Cory Hardrict. The actress recently sat down with Hello Beautiful to share how she is moving forward since the breakup.
“A part of my decision [to divorce] was also for them,” Tia said in reference to her thinking of her daughter and son, Cree Hardrict, when making the decision for marriage dissolution. “For them seeing their mother walk in truth,” Mowry shared. “I feel like it’s a great lesson for them because it was not an easy decision. It was one of the hardest decisions that I had ever had to make in my entire life.”
Although a difficult choice, Tia decided to embrace the newness of life. “If they see that mommy can do it, that mommy, no matter what people say, no matter, even if there’s some sort of doubt, whatever, mommy pushed through. [They can say], ‘My mommy is living and chasing her truth.’ I want my children to do that,” Mowry shared with Hello Beautiful.
“That’s the best gift I can give them,” the actress said. “I want for them not to live a life that I want them to live, for them not to live a life that everybody else wants them to live or what they think that they should be or live. I want them to see that it is okay to have a bad day. I want them to see that it is okay to chase your joy. I want them to see that it is okay to live your truth.”
