Terry Sanderson is now a household name. And that’s a problem for… Terry Sanderson!

Of course, he is the 76-year-old who sued Gwyneth Paltrow over their apparent 2016 skiing collision on a slope in Park City, Utah. On Thursday, he lost that civil lawsuit, as a jury in the Utah town came back with a verdict in Paltrow’s favor.

In turn, the jury awarded her the $1 in damages she’d been seeking, along with a full reimbursement of her legal fees. And as for Terry? Well, the retired optometrist didn’t get anything he wanted out of this whole mess.

Cameras caught up with Sanderson outside the courtroom on Thursday evening after the verdict came in on the Goop founder’s side. The ill-fated man said he was “very disappointed” in the outcome. Then, when a reporter asked if it was worth it to have sued in the first place, he responded:

“Absolutely not.”

Oof.

Sanderson continued, referencing how details from the court proceedings have now been shown all over the world:

“Knowing that [verdict] now, no. I joked about Dating sites, right? It’s like, I’m gonna be on the internet forever.”

FYI, Sanderson said this while he was on the stand during the trial earlier this month:

“Well I can never go on another dating site again. … It’s the pain of trying to sue a celebrity.”

So that’s what he is referencing back to with Thursday night’s new “dating site” quip.

Extra TV host Billy Bush then quizzed Sanderson about whether he might be ready for a reality TV turn now that he’s gotten a taste of fame. But the retired doctor said that wasn’t exactly in his plans:

“I don’t need that.”

Yeah, no kidding. Probably good to avoid all that…

On more quote from Sanderson’s media scrum outside of court: a question of credibility! The now-infamous man pondered if Gwyneth’s star power could have given her an edge during the legal battle:

“You get some assumed credibility from being a famous person. Who wants to take on a celebrity? No wonder I hesitated. It’s difficult. Who wants to do that someone who learns lines, learns how to play someone else’s part and be believable, be credible, wins awards? Who wants to go on that path. I believe she thinks she has the truth … but I absolutely know I said I would not bring any falsehoods.”

Hmmm. Tough to say. After all, it’s not like Paltrow’s public perception is 100% good. She’s made plenty of weird and unpopular comments just in recent weeks alone! Ya know??
