As you’ve probably heard by now, Donald Trump’s Relationship with his eldest daughter appears to be going through a rough patch. Whereas Ivanka Trump once leapt at the opportunity to uproot her life and move to Washington to work, alongside her husband, for her father, she more recently seems to want nothing to do with the guy, at least in public. Case in point: her refusal to take part in his 2024 campaign, her muted statement following his indictment, and her notable absence at his post-arraignment speech at Mar-a-Lago, which every other one of her adult siblings turned out for, as did their partners. (According to a source, she and Jared Kushner were “in Wyoming to celebrate Passover,” which started one day later.)

And while it’s undoubtedly been tough on the ex-president to have his favorite child—who stood by him through everything from Charlottesville to his child-separation border policy to his 2020 election lies—keep her distance, the situation may be a golden opportunity for at least one person: Tiffany Trump.

Per Page Six:

Donald Trump’s right-hand daughter Ivanka Trump was conspicuously absent from his post-indictment prime time speech at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday. But we’re told insiders also noted that Trump’s other daughter, Tiffany, was front and center for the occasion.

“If you look at Tiffany’s history, she has never really been involved in the political stuff,” says a source. But now Trump’s favorite daughter Ivanka is clinging to the outer edges of the political picture, “Tiffany is trying to be the supportive daughter.”

“This could be her way to get closer to her father,” the source speculates.

Is the idea of a long-ignored child hoping to get closer to her father in the wake of her big sister publicly dumping the guy because his various crimes are aren’t good for the brand one of the saddest things you’ve ever heard? If we’re comparing to, like, actual human suffering, no. But in a vacuum? Yeah, it‘s pretty sad.

Still, hey, nice for Tiff, who single-mother/” target=”_blank”>reportedly only saw her father in New York a Couple of times a year after her parents divorced, and whose speech at the Republican National Convention in 2016 was deeply awkward to watch. (One of the few anecdotes she had to share was that Trump would write notes on her report cards and that she held onto them, presumably because they were one of her few connections to the man. She also claimed that he was good with advice but “ke[pt] it short.”) According to the ex-president’s former lawyer Michael Cohen, Ivanka, Don Jr., and Eric referred to Tiffany as the “red-haired stepchild,” and in an interview, Cohen’s daughter, Samantha, previously told Vanity Fair: “Tiffany and I had a mutual friend, but she knew who my dad was because Trump never wanted to deal with her, [so] my dad was helpful to her…. [It] can’t be easy being made to feel your entire life like you’re unwanted.”
