Lea Michele has been starring in Funny Girl on Broadway since September 2022 and she has five more months in the musical.
Fans have been hoping for a movie version of the musical and there’s a chance it might happen.
Lea gave an update on a possible Funny Girl movie while attending the Variety Power of Women event this week.

If the movie does happen, Lea sees it being a filmed version of the musical, just like Hamilton on Disney+.
“You know, I think that’s the hope. I think we really would love to make that happen. I have five more months in the show, so if we can squeeze it in… It’s hard. I’ve talked to a Couple people who have made filmed versions and it’s taxing. But I think that if we can make that happen, it would be great,” Lea told E! News.
After the reporter said that she will make it happen, Lea laughed and added, “If I have to be there overnight… I’ll do the show, I’ll put my son to sleep, I’ll come back, I’ll film it.”
